Sudbury Developmental Services (SDS) is a nonprofit, bilingual agency that supports adults with developmental disabilities throughout Greater Sudbury. Funded by the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS), SDS provides person-directed services and supports that promote independence, inclusion, choices, and belonging.
Founded in 1953 by a group of dedicated parents seeking greater opportunities and supports for their children, SDS has grown and evolved alongside the developmental services sector while remaining committed to helping people live meaningful lives within their communities.

SDS is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by a dedicated team of professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality services and supports.

SDS adheres to the requirements of Ontario Regualtion 299/10 (Quality Assurance Measures), maintains a zero-tolerance approach to abuse and neglect, and is committed to meeting the standards of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
